CDL‑A car hauler jobs
Updated September 2026
Accelerated Services hires experienced CDL‑A car haulers to move new and used vehicles for the automakers. You haul up to nine cars a load, you run over the road, and you keep a set share of the truck’s gross on every load. Here’s what the job is and what it takes to get in.
The application takes a few minutes from your phone. No account to create.
Accelerated Services LLC (USDOT 873632, MC-382853) has hauled vehicles since 1999. Our office is at 9780 S Meridian Blvd, Suite 450, Englewood, Colorado, and our operational yard is in nearby Parker, Colorado.
What a CDL‑A car hauler does at Accelerated
Car hauling is skilled work. You don’t back up to a dock and wait. You load the cars yourself, secure every one, and deliver them clean.
- Load up to nine vehicles. Most rigs carry a truck package, the rack that lets you load cars on the tractor as well as the trailer.
- Haul steady freight. New vehicles from OEM plants, ports, and rail ramps, plus rental cars and used vehicles.
- Deliver and close it out. Every load is tracked by GPS and closed out with Electronic Proof of Delivery, so your delivery record is on file.
- Run over the road. Our drivers follow the freight. Accelerated does not sell or assign lanes.
We handle the customer side, so your truck stays loaded with steady work. Our national clients include Mercedes‑Benz USA, Stellantis, Nissan USA, Toyota, and Tesla, plus rental fleets like Avis, Enterprise, and Hertz. Each OEM origin has its own management team, and our dispatch team has over 100 years of combined auto transport experience.

The equipment you’ll run
Our tractors are Peterbilt, Western Star, Volvo, and Freightliner. Trailers are Cottrell and Boydstun, with belly pans, trailer skirts, and bat wings. The average age across the fleet is 3 years, and new and used equipment is available. See the trucks and trailers you’ll drive for the full rundown.
CDL‑A car hauler requirements
We hire drivers who already know the work. Here’s what you need:
- 3 years of CDL‑A driving experience
- 1 year of verifiable 9‑car experience
- A valid Class A CDL, an acceptable MVR, and a clean safety history
- A current DOT medical certificate
- The ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- For lease‑purchase: an active LLC or S‑corp with an EIN and a business bank account
A TWIC is useful, but you don’t need one to apply. The driving test comes at orientation, not before you apply.
Short on 9‑car time?
The experience rule is firm, because a load of new cars leaves no room to learn on the job. If you’re not there yet, our careers page explains what it takes to get there.
How pay works for CDL‑A car haulers
Pay is a percentage of the truck’s gross. You see the gross on every load, and all contract drivers keep 82% of it.
- Sign-on bonus, paid within your first month of activation, on top of your settlements
- Safety and damage-claim bonuses, awarded based on performance
- Referral bonus program
- Lease-purchase with no money down upfront, if you want your own truck
What that adds up to depends on the freight you run and how much you run. Your recruiter goes over the numbers with you.
How to apply
- Start the application. It runs on IntelliApp and takes a few minutes from your phone.
- Have your details ready. Bring your CDL, your DOT medical certificate, and proof you can work in the US. We run your MVR, so you don’t need it in hand. List every carrier you’ve hauled cars for, with dates, so your 9‑car time can be checked. Drove for Motor Car Auto Carriers? Motor Car is now part of Accelerated.
- A recruiter reaches out. They walk you through the freight, the equipment, and what happens next.

CDL‑A car hauler job FAQs
What class of CDL do you need to haul cars?
You need a Class A CDL. Federal rules require one when the combined weight rating is 26,001 pounds or more and the unit you tow is rated over 10,000 pounds. A loaded 9‑car rig is well past that line.
How much experience do CDL‑A car hauler jobs at Accelerated require?
You need 3 years of CDL‑A driving and 1 year of verifiable 9‑car experience. Verifiable means we can confirm it with the carriers on your work history.
Can I get a CDL car hauler job with no car hauling experience?
Not at Accelerated. Our trucks require 1 year of verifiable 9‑car experience. Most drivers build that time at another carrier first, then apply with us.
Do I need a TWIC card for a CDL‑A car hauler job?
Not to apply. A TWIC is useful, because some ports and terminals require one to get in. Our drivers hold TWIC and eModal credentials where the job calls for them.
How many cars does a CDL‑A car hauler carry?
Our rigs carry up to nine cars per load. Most also carry a truck package, so you load cars on the tractor as well as the trailer.
How are CDL‑A car haulers paid at Accelerated?
All contract drivers keep 82% of the truck’s gross on percentage pay. You also get a sign-on bonus in your first month, and safety and damage-claim bonuses are awarded based on performance.
Do I need my own truck to drive for Accelerated?
No. You can bring your own equipment or start our lease‑purchase program with no money down upfront. More than 100 drivers have paid off their truck leases through it.
